The wildlife community in the the Congo Tropical Rainforest is very diverse and interesting. It is very abundant with life, being home to approximately 450 mammal species, 300 reptile species, 200 amphibian species, and over 1,000 bird species. It is also the only place in the world where all three subspecies of gorillas can be found (mountain gorilla, lowland gorilla, and eastern lowland gorillas). There is much bird life, carnivores, omnivores, herbivores, and ungulates (hoofed mammals).
